The first blogging I ever did is on livejournal -click here to check it out->Lizzy's , my first post was about an epiphany I had. I decided to spruce up the piece, so here it is...
-While reading my Language Arts book for homework one night something clicked in my head. I felt a sudden urge to write in down. While writing it my fingers flowed freely spilling words onto the paper, then it seemed just a jumbled bunch of words. The more I wrote the more excited I became, and made more sense of what I was thinking. Before I knew it I had come up with something amazing, something I never knew I was capable of thinking, my epiphany. In this language Arts book it shows many scenes of intolerance, such as violence against gays. I couldn't help but notice the usage of the words us and them. When really it wasn't us or them. It was we. In just those two little words sums up what stirs hatred. While in this stream of thought I thought of when we use those two words. We use us when talking about local sports teams, yet when we talk of a homeless man we use them. To me it seems that first person plural is only used when it makes us look good. With second and third person voice we use it when it makes us look bad. It is a way to separate us from the problem.
-People would rather see what Paris Hilton wore to the mall then the starving children in Sudan. Most Americans don't even watch the national news or try to better the world that WE live in. They only care about how much better they are than the next door neighbor. People are not willing to except the fact that we are the causing the problem. If we would only understand that life is more than just looking good.
-What America needs is to come together. We shouldn't become passive and let the government do everything for us. We need to band together as a whole. We need to come together for a common cause and use less of they & us and more of we. If we all gave an effort we could slowly nurse our society back to help. The first step in this long overdue movement is to elect a leader who is more for us building back our great nation than planning on doing it all by himself. Abraham Lincoln called for soldiers to save the union, Franklin D Roosevelt asked us to help our neighbors in the Great Depression, Lyndon B Johnson declared war on poverty, and John Kennedy challenged us to go to the moon. For the Past eight years Bush based a war without a vision. After 9/11 and the financial crisis people asked what they could do to help, they were told to go shopping. That is not sacrificing or pulling together as a country. People don't get a sense of pride by going to the store and buying a pack of bubble gum. Our country needs a national and global purpose, and a leader who can pull us back together, while not turning our backs on other countries that need us.
-In my opinion Obama is the answer to our problems. He is going to be the one who unites our country. He is going to be the one who gives this country a reality check.
He is the one who will set a purpose and vision for this country to look up to! Well, maybe on that road intolerance will become a thing of the past.
This blog is about my writing. It has some cute short little things I have written, and the status of the bigger projects I am into.
